Заместитель Руководителя Представительства ОАО «НК «Роснефть» в Азиатско-тихоокеанском регионе (г. Пекин), работал под руководством академика Е.М. Прикова в Институте востоковедения (1978-83) и ИМЭМО (1986-89), был представителем Института востоковедения в Посольстве СССР в Индии (1983-86).

Deputy Chief Representative

Dr. Vladimir I. Ivanov serves as Deputy Chief Representative of ROSNEFT OIL COMPANY’s regional representative office located in Beijing from 2006. He is responsible for business and information contacts with Asia Pacific countries, both companies and government offices. His immediate area of concern, in addition to PRC, is Japan, the Republic of Korea, other economies of the area, including countries of Southeast and South Asia.

Dr. Ivanov graduated from the University of Moscow and received his PhD in Political Economy from the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences. Until August 2006, he was working as Deputy Director General, following the position of Director of Research and Senior Economist at the Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia (ERINA), Niigata, Japan.

In Moscow, he was Director of the Asia-Pacific Studies Department, at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1986-1991).

From 1991-1996, before joining ERINA, he was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the University of Tokyo, and research fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Center for International and Strategic Studies in Washington D.C., and visiting fellow with the East-West Center, Honolulu.

Dr. Ivanov has published extensively at home and abroad, covering economic, social, political and security issues of Northeast Asia, larger Asia-Pacific region, and Russia’s relations with neighbors, including prospects for cooperation in energy sector.
