Скульптор, академик Российской академии художеств, Народный художник России (1995), Заслуженный художник РСФСР (1984), Заслуженный художник Киргизской ССР (1984); родился в 1950 г. в г. Москве; в 1974 г. с отличием окончил Московский государственный художественный институт имени В. И. Сурикова; профессор, заведующий кафедрой скульптуры МГХУ; член консультативного совета по монументально-декоративному искусству при правительстве РФ; действительный член Российской академии художеств (1997), член Союза художников СССР (1974), секретарь правления Союза художников СССР в 1986-1988 годах, член Президентской комиссии по культуре (1997); Награждён орденами "Знак Почёта" (1986), Дружбы (2000), Лауреат премии Ленинского комсомола, серебряной медали Академии художеств СССР; в числе произведений: "Владимир Высоцкий" (Третьяковская галерея), памятник-надгробие Высоцкому (Ваганьковское кладбище), памятники Ф.Достоевскому, Л.Яшину, Н.Старостину и др. _________________________________________________________________________________ Alexander Rukavishnikov, academician of The Russian Fine Arts Academy, was born in Moscow in 1950. Graduated from the State Institute of Fine Arts named after V.I. Sourikov (the sculpture studio of L.E.Kerbel). Alexander Rukavishnikov has participated in numerous shows and exhibitions, his sculptures were acquired by the Tretyakov Gallery, Ludwig museum in Germany, many other museums and galleries both in Russia and abroad.
